Len Morissette is a proud First Nations business owner. In 2011, he co-founded CIA Solutions, an advertising network in Grande Prairie. He is originally from Mistawasis First Nation in Saskatchewan. Len describes his childhood as tumultuous as he faced the death of his mother, aunt and multiple close friends at the young age of 17. Len struggled with dyslexia and was always drawn to visuals and felt driven to film ‘what he saw in his head’. In 2012, he filmed the intro for a series called ‘Life Stories’ which he now feels represents his personal story. Len has since recorded 6 Youth Stories episodes, advertised numerous local businesses, and utilized his network to help support nonprofit organizations including Sunrise House and the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre. He is passionate about mentoring young people into achieving their own film, design and entrepreneurial goals and finding a sense of community and belonging. Len said he builds his understanding of traditional culture day by day and feels especially connected to a power outside himself when listening to ceremonial music. Len’s preferred method of contact is by email: [email protected]
