AHS YOUTH COUNSELLING SERVICES
Prevention services are offered in response to local needs, with a focus on education and community capacity building.
This group is for children 7-12 years of age who are/have been affected by a family member’s use of alcohol, other drugs, gambling and/or family violence.
To make an appointment with a counsellor for a child or youth for their own use or someone else’s use call the number listed below. Children or youth can be seen at our office or in their school.
VOLUNTARY DETOXIFICATION AND STABILIZATION
This program helps youth safely withdraw from substance use and/or gambling, while exploring further treatment options. Youth may participate in the program for up to ten days with the possibility for extension
THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN ABUSING DRUGS (PChAD)
The PChAD program offers a way for guardians to help their children who will not voluntarily seek treatment for their substance use.
